Tribute to Ron Strong

The man responsible for bringing us all to Pointe au Père, Ron Strong was husband and best friend to Dianne for many years. Ron lost his battle against cancer in 1996 and although I never met him, his passion for diving led to the discovery of the compass on the bottom of the St. Lawrence River.

Ron must have had an intense lust for life to have kept up with Dianne all those years. I wish I could have known him. My thanks to you Ron, for were it not for your discovery, none of us would have been there that day in Pointe au Pere.
